UPDATE ON BOX SUBSCRIPTION AT IMPERIAL: ICT has renewed our Box subscription for a further three years, allowing existing users to continue benefiting from this service until July 2026.
Box is a secure cloud-based content and collaboration tool which is primarily used to support groups and teams with collaboration on file-based content. Box was originally introduced to support the management of research data but is now used for a multitude of reasons by various teams at Imperial.
Access to Box
If you are an existing Box user you can log in using the link above. If you would like to create a new Box account please contact the ICT Service Desk who will review your request and advise you accordingly.
Other recommended data solutions
Research data can be stored using the Research Data Store. ICT also offers data storage through OneDrive for Business and SharePoint.
Migrating data from Box to Office 365
If you no longer require Box, or your data can be better stored using Office 365 storage solutions, please follow our instructions on how to move files from Box to OneDrive for Business or SharePoint.

Long term plans for Box
We have been working directly with Box, to better understand, define, and shape the future use of Box at Imperial. This includes reassessing our folder structure, increasing overall usability, and providing guidance on governance to ensure we get the best from the service whilst adhering to our data policies.
As part of this work, ICT is assessing all data storage options at Imperial to ensure you can access the most appropriate and sustainable storage solution for your work. Once complete, we will update our guidance on the ICT website and, if necessary, support departments with any data migration needs.
